The 1997 Rental Investors Survey CURF consists of unidentified individual statistical records containing data on 47,959 persons belonging to 32,425 income units in private dwellings including, for all income units: State and capital city/rest of State identifiers (ACT and NT combined with no part of State), household and income unit types, age, sex, marital status, birthplace, year of arrival, labour force status, dwelling structure, number of bedrooms, tenure type, number of persons in the income unit, intention to buy, sale of property; for rental investors: income and principal source of income, number of investment and residential properties owned, ownership arrangement of investment properties, total weekly rent from properties, total mortgage amount owing on properties and net annual return on all properties; for rental investment properties: dwelling structure, number of flats/dwelling units in property, number of bedrooms, SLA and location in relation to investor, number of weeks vacant last year, current vacancies, whether the investor originally lived in the property, how acquired, whether property new when purchased, age, management, ownership type, share of ownership, year first rented out, weekly rent, mortgage amount outstanding, estimated value, purchase price, repairs/maintenance costs, net annual return, reason for investment, intention to sell and reason.
