Australian Bureau of Statistics
Microdata access is priced in accordance with ABS Pricing Policy and Commonwealth Cost Recovery Guidelines.
The subscription price charged depends on the time of year that the subscription is taken up. A full year subscription is charged for data series taken up between July and September. A proportional amount is charged for subscriptions taken up in October - December, January - March, or April - June. For example, if an organisation subscribes to a data series in November, they will pay 75% of the full year subscription. The subscription period for data series taken up between April and June will last until June of the following year. For example, if an organisation subscribes to a data series in May, they will pay 125% of the full year subscription, and their subscription will be for the period May 2015 to 30 June 2016.
Current quarter subscription prices
The full year and partial year subscription prices charged at other times of the year are also available.
Other microdata products and services
ABS determines the size of an organisation based on employment in accordance with the definitions provided in 1321.0 - Small Business in Australia. Individuals not associated with an organisation can also subscribe to microdata services. Contact email@example.com for prices and further information.
How to pay
You can add data series to your organisation's annual subscription at any time of year. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
An invoice will be emailed to the organisation following approval by ABS of the microdata application. Once payment is received, then access is granted.
Staff and students of universities participating in the ABS/Universities Australia Agreement will not be invoiced. This is because Universities Australia has paid for access on behalf of participating universities.
How to apply
