Microdata prices

Microdata access is priced in accordance with ABS pricing policy and Commonwealth Cost Recovery Guidelines.

Microdata services subscription

To ensure our services are sustainable and meet customer needs we provide microdata services on an annual subscription basis that offers benefits such as:

  • access to the latest microdata within your subscription, as well as ongoing access to historic microdata, to create powerful stories about change and transformation
  • reduced registration red tape
  • improved help facilities tailored to your needs.
Microdata subscriptions are provided by grouping relevant datasets into data series. For a full listing of the datasets that are included in each data series, refer to the Available microdata page.

The subscription price charged depends on the time of year that the subscription is taken up. See the Full year and partial year subscriptions table at the end of this page.

How to apply

See How to apply for microdata to apply for TableBuilder products, Basic and Expanded CURFs and Census DataPacks.

You can add data series to your organisation's annual subscription at any time of year. Once you have applied, an invoice will be emailed to the organisation following approval by ABS of the microdata application. Staff and students of universities participating in the ABS/Universities Australia Agreement will not be invoiced for products and services covered under the agreement. This is because Universities Australia has paid for access on behalf of participating universities.
