Registration or licensing may be required.

Australia
- Skill Level 3: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience
New Zealand
- Skill Level 3: NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience
Main tasks
- Excavates soil and debris to prepare the site for pool and spa construction
- Constructs pool and spa shells using materials, such as concrete, fibreglass, or vinyl
- Installs plumbing systems for pool and spa circulation and filtration, and electrical systems for pool lighting and equipment
- May undertake the installation of pool hardscape areas, such as decking or paving, and incorporate water features and other decorative elements into pool design
