• Skill Level 3: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience

New Zealand

• Skill Level 3: NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience

• Fixes pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres, and other plaster fittings
• Mixes and applies coats of plaster, cement, and render to structures using trowels and levels, and smooths coats to uniform thickness
• Prepares surfaces for rendering by cleaning, removing old plaster, and applying bonding agents
• Plumbs and straightens corners, angles, and wall and ceiling surfaces
• Creates decorative textures in finishing coats
• Repairs and patches damaged or deteriorated plaster and cement surfaces
