Main tasks
- Supervises horse farm or stable activities, including feeding, exercising, grooming, and readying of horses for work, sport, or recreational activities
- Oversees the rearing of young horses, including the wellbeing of broodmares, foals, weanlings, and yearlings
- Supervises stablehands, overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of stables and horse equipment
- Supervises the assembly, preparation, and storing of feed, bedding, and horse equipment
- Prepares and attends to horses for transportation to race days and other sports and recreational activities
- May train new stablehands
