Main tasks

  • Supervises horse farm or stable activities, including feeding, exercising, grooming, and readying of horses for work, sport, or recreational activities
  • Oversees the rearing of young horses, including the wellbeing of broodmares, foals, weanlings, and yearlings
  • Supervises stablehands, overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of stables and horse equipment
  • Supervises the assembly, preparation, and storing of feed, bedding, and horse equipment
  • Prepares and attends to horses for transportation to race days and other sports and recreational activities
  • May train new stablehands
