Main tasks
- Sets up and operates electroplating equipment
- Prepares electrolytic and silver solutions for electroforming, and applies solution to the objects to be coated
- Cleans, prepares, descales, and removes all oxides from the surface of metal materials with cleaning solutions, such as acids, alkalis, and preflux solutions
- Masks areas not to be electroplated with silicon or oil-based paints
- Places articles in zinc solution for surface coating to reach government or manufacturing specifications
- Tests and adjusts plating solutions to maintain desired specifications
- Inspects plated articles and parts for defects and quality
