Main tasks

  • Sets up and operates electroplating equipment
  • Prepares electrolytic and silver solutions for electroforming, and applies solution to the objects to be coated
  • Cleans, prepares, descales, and removes all oxides from the surface of metal materials with cleaning solutions, such as acids, alkalis, and preflux solutions
  • Masks areas not to be electroplated with silicon or oil-based paints
  • Places articles in zinc solution for surface coating to reach government or manufacturing specifications
  • Tests and adjusts plating solutions to maintain desired specifications
  • Inspects plated articles and parts for defects and quality
