How can the ABS support me
We value the contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples bring as employees in the ABS. We recognise the importance of recruiting, developing and retaining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We are taking action to achieve this through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Inclusion and Diversity Strategy. Cultural or ceremonial leave, including leave to attend NAIDOC activities is offered at the ABS along with the support of the Indigenous Liaison and Strategy Officer (ILSO).
We are committed to reconciliation and increasing the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees to reflect the diverse communities and peoples we engage with and inform.
We have various social employee networks supporting diversity in the ABS, including the Yakeen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employee network. The Yakeen Network offers you the opportunity to develop meaningful connections across the country, contribute, participate and grow.
