• contributed $10.6b (0.44%) to Australia’s gross value added, up 4.1% from the previous year
• employed 64,100 persons, up 6.3% from the previous year
• consisted of 5,544 Australian businesses

Integrates ABS micro and macro data to produce distributional information of household income, consumption and wealth

• Household wealth increased $249.7b (1.5%) to $16,477.2b.
• Demand for credit was $97.9b. 
• Australia's net borrowing position fell by $0.3b to $9.4b this quarter.
• Capital investment as a proportion of GDP rose to 24.2%.

Input–Output (I-O) tables provide detailed information about the supply and use of products in the Australian economy

• The Australian economy rose 0.2% in seasonally adjusted chain volume measures
• GDP rose 1.5% in 2023-24
• The terms of trade fell 3.0%
• Household saving to income ratio remained at 0.6% 

Estimates of the direct contribution that NPIs make to the Australian economy, including to gross value added and gross domestic product

• Gross State Product (GSP) rose in all states and territories in 2023-24
• The strongest result was observed in the Northern Territory, which grew 4.6%, followed by the Australian Capital Territory (4.0%), Queensland (2.1%) and Victoria (1.5%)

Supply-Use tables balance the three measures of GDP and provide detailed information about the supply and use of products in the Australian economy.

• Tourism gross domestic product (GDP) rose 60.1% to $57.1b in chain volume terms in 2022-23 but remains below the 2018-19 peak of $63.4b.
• Tourism's contribution to economy GDP rose to 2.5% in 2022-23 but remains below the 2018-19 level of 3.1%.
• Domestic tourism consumption rose by $34.9b to $124.9b in 2022-23 while international tourism rose by $17.7b to $23.6b in chain volume terms.
• Tourism filled jobs rose to 626,400 in 2022-23 but remains below the 2018-19 peak of 700,900 filled jobs.

• The Australian economy grew 1.4% in chain volume terms in 2023-24
• Labour productivity was flat (0.0%)
• The household saving ratio decreased to 2.5% from 3.8% in 2022-23
• National net worth rose $1.5 trillion to $20.5 trillion

• Total transport activity contributed 7.9% ($164.4b) to GDP in 2020-21.
• Total transport activity was the second largest industry contributor to the Australian economy behind mining in 2020-21.
• There were around 1.2 million employed persons in the total transport industry (including warehousing) in 2020-21.

In June quarter 2024, there were 634,400 tourism jobs. This was:

• 11,500 (-1.8%) less jobs than March quarter 2024
• 12,300 (2.0%) more jobs than June quarter 2023
• 1 in 25 (4.0%) filled jobs in the economy
