Main tasks
- Provides prenatal care and monitors the health of pregnant women and their babies throughout pregnancy, labour and delivery
- Diagnoses and treats medical conditions and disorders related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the female reproductive system
- Performs surgical procedures related to the female reproductive system and provides post-operative care
- Performs diagnostic tests, and conducts periodic examinations to detect and prevent gynaecological disorders
- Interprets medical imaging results of female pelvic organs, and of pregnant women and their babies
- Provides guidance to patients on family planning and reproductive issues
