• Requests laboratory tests, ECGs, imaging, cardiac biopsies, and other diagnostic procedures, and interprets findings to assist diagnosis
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as cardiac stress tests, cardiovascular surgery, angioplasty, heart catheterisations, and inserting pacemakers
• Prescribes medication and administers treatment as primary and secondary prevention strategies in cardiovascular disease
• Liaises and consults with a multidisciplinary team for optimised treatment of heart conditions
