The value of total construction work done fell 0.1% to $80,011.8m in the December quarter, in seasonally adjusted terms. Engineering work fell 1.3% in the December quarter and is 2.7% lower than the same time last year. Building work done rose 0.9% in the December quarter and is 8.1% higher than the same time last year.

The trend estimate for total construction work done rose 1.5% in the December quarter.

The value of building work done rose 0.9% in the December quarter, in seasonally adjusted terms. Residential building increased by 1.0% and non-residential building increased by 0.7% in the December quarter. Residential building work done is 8.0% higher than at the same time last year. Non-residential building work done is 8.2% higher than at the same time last year.

The trend estimate for total building work done rose 2.4% in the December quarter.
