Kyoto ConventionThe International Convention on the simplification and harmonization of Customs procedures (Kyoto Convention) was signed at Kyoto in May 1973 and entered into force in 1974. The Convention discussed the universal harmonisation of customs procedures, other than classification and valuation. The World Customs Organization (WCO) adopted the revised Convention in June 1999 reflecting current and expected future demands of international trade.
