The ABS Vacation/Summer Intern Program offers successful students employment over their Summer break. Our program allows university students to gain valuable work experience with Australia’s leading statistical agency, and gain exposure to the Australian Public Service. The program also provides students with an insight into other employment opportunities in the ABS including the Graduate Development Program.
We are looking for students who have:
- Completed at least the first year of a degree and are continuing their studies in 2012
- A keen interest in the work of the ABS
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
- Well developed written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team Flexibility, adaptability and initiative

Commencement Dates;
Exact start and finish dates will depend on the requirements of the area and the nature of the work/project being undertaken. Generally, Vacation/Summer Intern opportunities are offered in the period of November - February, with the duration of individual Vacation/Summer Intern opportunities varying depending on organisational requirements.
