Profiles of Health (cat. no. 4338.0) provides a comprehensive statistical overview of people's health in Australia. This product was first released on the 29 October 2012 and is designed to be updated progressively.

Results from the Australian Health Survey are being released progressively. The first results, released in October 2012, contained information on health risk factors (such as alcohol consumption, tobacco smoking and Body Mass Index); long-term health conditions; mental health and wellbeing and physical activity, for Australia and the states and territories. See Australian Health Survey: First Results, 2011-12 (cat. no. 4364.0.55.001) for more information.

Australian Health Survey: Health Service Usage and Health Related Actions, 2011-12 (cat. no. 4364.0.55.002), released on the 26 March 2013, presents information on general use of health services (for example, consultations with General Practitioners and specialists) and actions people take for their health (for example, self-management of health conditions, medication use and private health insurance) as well as specific actions people take for particular long-term health conditions. Information is presented for Australia only.

Australian Health Survey: Updated Results, 2011-12 — Australia (cat. no. 4364.0.55.003), released on the 7 June 2013, presents information from the combined NHS and NNPAS samples known as the core. Tables include updated results for the following risk factors: smoking, overweight and obesity, BMI, blood pressure, fruit and vegetables as well as updated results for three conditions: heart and circulatory conditions, diabetes mellitus and kidney disease, and self-assessed health. Information is available for Australia and the states and territories.

Further results from the AHS will be released progressively throughout 2013-14. Results for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population will be released progressively from late 2013. For information around this schedule see Release schedule.

Special data services

In addition to the product outlined above, a range of special data services are available on request, on a fee for service basis. Subject to sampling and confidentiality constraints, tables can be compiled to individual specifications, and other data and analytical services are available.
