The ABS is developing a product, ABS.Stat Beta, which is an interactive, free online tool that presents datasets in a searchable, flexible and dynamic way. It provides access to a range of ABS data and allows users to create and export custom tables.
Additional datasets will continue to be added and existing datasets will continue to be updated as soon as possible after their embargo release.
ABS.Stat Beta presents two options, a web browser where users can view, query, customise and download data and a web service which facilitates machine to machine communication via the use of the Statistical Data and Metadata Standard (SDMX).
ABS.Stat Beta uses software which has been jointly developed by a consortium of organisations including the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Statistics New Zealand and others.
We encourage you to utilise ABS.Stat Beta and provide feedback, including datasets you would like to see added, recognising there is still work to be done on enhancing the tool.
