Special Area Supervisor applications closing soon

17 June 2016

Take to the slopes this snow season and become a 2016 Census Special Area Supervisor

August 9 is Census night and the ABS is seeking Special Area Supervisors to take to the snowfields and play a role in shaping the future of Australia.

If you’re community minded, enjoy working in cold climates and are comfortable using a mobile or tablet device, then this could be the job for you.

In this role you will recruit, train and manage a team of field staff to deliver household forms and encourage online participation across hotels, establishments and private dwellings to ensure everyone staying overnight on the snowfields completes the Census.

Special Area Supervisors will earn up to $34.76 per hour, receive motor vehicle allowances and enjoy flexible working hours from June until September 2016. To be eligible for these positions you must have a current Australian driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

Positions are available in NSW locations including Thredbo and Perisher Valley and in Victoria’s Mt Buller, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek.

If this sounds like a job for you, apply online now at abs.gov.au/careers. For more information about the position, or technical help submitting your application, please contact Regional Management Unit on 1800 683 051 (NSW) or 1800 151 913 (VIC).

Job seekers from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. You must be an Australian Citizen or have the legal right to work in Australia.
