Labour accounts

In seasonally adjusted terms, in the June quarter 2024:

• total jobs increased 0.3% to 16.1 million
• filled jobs increased 0.4% to 15.8 million
• secondary jobs decreased 2.9% to 1.07 million
• proportion of vacant jobs decreased to 2.2%
• multiple job-holders decreased 1.2% to 961,400
• hours worked increased 1.1% to 5.9 billion hours.

• Over the six years to June 2016, filled jobs grew by 6.9%.
• Over the same period, the number of employed persons increased by 6.8%.
• Over the six years to June 2016, hours actually worked increased by 5.7%.
• Total labour income increased over the six years to June 2016 by 21.5%.
