This is the final release of Weekly Payroll Jobs and Wages in Australia, Interim. 

The next monthly release of Weekly Payroll Jobs and Wages in Australia, on Wednesday 19 January 2022, will include the full suite of payroll jobs and wages estimates up to the week ending 18 December 2021.

This interim release presents an updated suite of high-level payroll job indexes, including Australia and each state and territory, up to the week ending 27 November 2021.

This release sees higher than usual revisions in late August 2021, as the 16 week imputation retention threshold passes through this period. Increased lags in reporting in lockdown areas, in addition to higher than usual variability around the end of the financial year contributed to some over-imputation, which is now being removed as more complete data is received.

Users should exercise caution when referring to estimates across late August 2021.

This interim release has provided timely insights into a reduced set of payroll jobs estimates during the current COVID-19 period. This is the final issue of the interim release.
