Key statistics

In December quarter 2023, there were 655,400 tourism jobs. This was:

4,800 (-0.7%) less jobs than September quarter 2023
8,000 (1.2%) more jobs than December quarter 2022
94,600 (-12.6%) less jobs than December quarter 2019, prior to COVID-19 pandemic
1 in 24 (4.2%) filled jobs in the economy
