In the 2011 Census, there were 52,788 people in Inala of these 51.0% were male and 49.0% were female. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people made up 4.5% of the population.

The median age of people in Inala was 32 years. Children aged 0 - 14 years made up 22.9% of the population and people aged 65 years and over made up 9.4% of the population.

Of people in Inala aged 15 years and over, 44.3% were married and 13.2% were either divorced or separated.

Of employed people in Inala, 9.7% worked 1 to 15 hours, 8.2% worked 16 to 24 hours and 41.2% worked 40 hours or more.

The median age of people employed full-time in Inala was 39 years and for people who were employed part-time was 37 years.
