In the 2011 Census, there were 10,875 people in Albury Region of these 50.3% were male and 49.7% were female. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people made up 1.8% of the population.

The median age of people in Albury Region was 42 years. Children aged 0 - 14 years made up 21.7% of the population and people aged 65 years and over made up 16.5% of the population.

Of people in Albury Region aged 15 years and over, 57.6% were married and 10.5% were either divorced or separated.

The median age of people employed full-time in Albury Region was 47 years and for people who were employed part-time was 45 years.

The most common occupations in Albury Region included Managers 23.3%, Technicians and Trades Workers 13.8%, Professionals 13.5%, Clerical and Administrative Workers 12.0%, Labourers 11.0%, Machinery Operators And Drivers 9.3%, Community and Personal Service Workers 8.3% and Sales Workers 7.1%.

Of the employed people in Albury Region, the most common responses for industry of employment included Sheep, Beef Cattle and Grain Farming 16.8%, School Education 5.4%, Road Freight Transport 3.4%, Hospitals 2.9% and Cafes, Restaurants and Takeaway Food Services 2.6%.

In Albury Region, on the day of the Census, the most common methods of travel to work for employed people included Car, as driver 61.1%, Walked only 4.6%, Car, as passenger 3.7%, Truck 2.2% and Other 1.1%.
