In the 2006 Census, 40.0% of the population usually resident in Greater Dandenong (C) were Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children aged 0-14 years, 10.7% were aged 55 years and over and the median age was 22 years.

Language diversity

In the 2006 Census, there were no responses for Indigenous language spoken at home. English was stated as the only language spoken at home by 87.5% resident in Greater Dandenong (C)

Employment

During the week prior to the 2006 Census, 132 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, aged 15 years and over in Greater Dandenong (C) were in the labour force. Of these 75.0% were employed and 25.0% were unemployed. 132 were not in the labour force.
