Language diversity

In the 2006 Census, the most common response for Indigenous language other than English spoken at home by people usually resident in Griffith (C) was Wiradjuri 0.6%. English was stated as the only language spoken at home by 92.6% resident in Griffith (C)

Employment

During the week prior to the 2006 Census, 272 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, aged 15 years and over in Griffith (C) were in the labour force. Of these 80.1% were employed and 19.9% were unemployed. 251 were not in the labour force.

In the 2006 Census, 32.8% of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, aged 15 years and over who were usually resident in Griffith (C) had completed Year 10 or equivalent, and 10.7% had completed Year 12 or equivalent. 9.2% aged 15-19 years were in full-time education and 29.0% aged 15 years and over had a qualification.
