INTRODUCTION
This publication presents results for the 2006-07 reference year from a survey conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) of businesses mainly involved in the provision of accommodation services. Previous collections were conducted in respect of the 2003-04, 2000-01, 1997-98, 1995-96, 1991-92, 1986-87 and 1979-80 financial years.
CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE
The estimates in this publication are based on the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) 2006 edition (ANZSIC06). Data in previous issues were based on the 1993 edition of the ANZSIC (ANZSIC93).
COMPARISON WITH PREVIOUS SURVEY RESULTS
The survey was not designed to provide highly accurate estimates of change. Users are advised to exercise caution if making any comparison between the 2006-07 data and previous published estimates.
