PREFACE

Information paper: National Health Survey - Confidentialised Unit Record Files, 2007-08 (4324.0) was replaced on 27 September 2010. This document provides updated information reflecting the content of the reissued 'Microdata: National Health Survey, Basic and Expanded CURF, 2007-08' (4324.0.55.001)

Microdata from the 2007-08 National Health Survey is available in the form of a Basic Confidentialised Unit Record File (CURF) and an Expanded CURF. The CURFs contain confidentialised data about each selected person and the household to which they belong. Deletion of some variables and aggregation of categories in other variables ensures that confidentiality provisions are not compromised. Subject to the data classifications used, it is possible to manipulate the data, produce tabulations and undertake statistical analyses to individual specifications.

The expanded CURF is only available via the Remote Access Data Laboratory (RADL).

Overview

Includes: Introduction, About the survey, Changes to the survey, About the microdata, File structure, Using repeating datasets, Medication level, Counting units and weights, Identifiers, Estimation, Sampling error, Points about the data, Conditions of use of geography and SEIFA items, Conditions of release, Accessing the CURF.

Appendices

Are provided in the form of data cubes and include: CURF file content, Selected population frequencies, Decile cut-offs for income items, Medication classification for the CURF, ICD10 classification for CURF
