Purpose
To provide comprehensive data on Australia's research and development (R&D) effort for the Government and Private Non-profit Organisation sectors. Includes the socioeconomic objective of economic development (energy resources and energy supply categories).
Description
The Government sector includes all Commonwealth, State and local government departments and authorities. The Private non-profit sector includes private or semi-public incorporated organisations which are established with the intention of not making a profit.
Method of collection
The survey is conducted by mail questionnaire, and based on a complete enumeration of Government and Private non-profit organisations identified by the ABS as likely R&D performers.
