Purpose
To collect comprehensive energy consumption and production data to support medium-term projections of the energy sector and supplement ABARE's detailed energy database.
Description
ABARE's energy data covers all areas of consumption, production and trade in Australian energy products. Data is presented both nationally and by State, in energy and material units, by industry and equipment type and for imports and exports.
Method of collection
ABARE conducts the comprehensive fuel and electricity survey of energy market participants every two years. The survey covers more than 3,000 organisations and is largely confined to the mining, manufacturing, communication, rail transport, electricity generation sectors and gas production and distribution sectors.
