Apples are mainly grown in the Central West and Murrumbidgee Statistical Divisions (SDs).
In 2006-07, NSW farmers produced 37,400 tonnes of apples, behind Victoria (115,600 tonnes), but ahead of Western Australia (31,900 tonnes).
The five most common varieties of apples grown in NSW were:
- Block Red Delicious (6,900 tonnes)
- Gala (6,800 tonnes)
- Granny Smith (5,700 tonnes)
- Striped Red Delicious (4,600 tonnes)
- Cripps Pink (Pink Lady TM) (4,100 tonnes)

In 2006-07, 44% of all apples produced in NSW came from the Central West SD (16,300 tonnes). This was followed by the Murrumbidgee SD with 15,500 tonnes.
