Approximately 31.8% of workers employed in cultural industries received a gross weekly income of less that $600 per week. Some 14.3% of those employed in cultural industries received a gross weekly income in the $600 to $799 range, 12.8% received between $800 and $999, and 39.1% received $1,000 or more. (Table 13)
The majority of persons employed in the Motion Picture Exhibition industry (57.1%) received an income of less than $400 per week. Other industries with a large percentage of employees receiving an income of less than $400 per week were the Arts Education industry (42.0%), Entertainment and Media Retailing industry (40.9%) and Newspaper and Book Retailing industry (40.1%). A relatively high percentage of those employed in the Internet Publishing and Broadcasting (42.9%) and the Free-to-Air Television Broadcasting industries (39.5%) received an income of $1,500 or over per week.
