In 2006-07, Victoria produced more tomatoes than any other state. In 2006-07, Victorian farmers produced 124,000 tonnes of tomatoes, ahead of Queensland (121,000 tonnes) and New South Wales (35,900 tonnes).

In 2006-07, 93% of all tomatoes produced in Victoria came from the Goulburn Statistical Division (115,000 tonnes) and 5% came from the Mallee Statistical Division (5,900 tonnes).
