Pears are a significant fruit crop in Victoria. In 2004-05, Victorian farmers produced 130,000 tonnes of pears, well ahead of the next highest producer (Western Australia with 8,900 tonnes). Nearly all pears were grown in the Goulburn Statistical Division (SD).

(a) Number of trees and yield is based on trees six years and over. However, the production figure used to calculate yield includes any contribution by trees under six years.
