Queensland easily produces more bananas than any other state. In 2004-05, Queensland farmers produced 238,000 tonnes of bananas, ahead of New South Wales (18,000 tonnes) and Western Australia (8,000 tonnes).

In 2004-05, 99% of all bananas produced in Queensland came from the Far North Statistical Division (236,000 tonnes).
