Hours worked
In 2011, 62.3% (193,441) of persons employed in cultural occupations were working at least 35 hours per week, while 20.2% (62,837) reported that they worked between 16 and 34 hours, and 12.8% (39,862) between 1 and 15 hours per week in all jobs. (Table 8)
Over 85% of Advertising Specialists, Printing Machinists, Art Directors, Technical Directors and Environmental Managers worked for 35 hours or more per week in 2011. Civil Celebrants (46.9%) and Private tuition Music Teachers (50.3%), Drama Teachers (46.2%), Art Teachers (44.0%) and Dance Teachers (43.0%) worked for between 1 and 15 hours per week in all jobs. Approximately 33.1% of those employed in a cultural occupation worked part-time (between 1 and 34 hours per week). By comparison, 30.5% of all employed persons worked part-time. (Table 8)
