In 2006-07, Victorian farmers produced 256,000 tonnes of potatoes, behind South Australia (364,000 tonnes) and Tasmania (302,000 tonnes).

In 2006-07, 31% of all potatoes produced in Victoria came from the Central Highlands Statistical Division (78,000 tonnes) and 29% came from the Gippsland Statistical Division (74,000 tonnes).
