In 2004-05, Victoria produced more tomatoes than any other state. In 2004-05, Victorian farmers produced 237,000 tonnes of tomatoes, ahead of Queensland (85,800 tonnes) and New South Wales (76,100 tonnes).

In 2004-05, 76% of all tomatoes produced in Victoria came from the Goulburn Statistical Division (179,000 tonnes) and 14% came from the Loddon Statistical Division (32,500 tonnes).
