Pears are a significant fruit crop in Victoria. In 2006-07, Victorian farmers produced 117,000 tonnes of pears, well ahead of the next highest producer (Western Australia with 7,700 tonnes). Nearly all pears were grown in the Goulburn Statistical Division (SD).
