Issac: QLD’s super earners Workers living in the Local Government Area of Isaac Queensland are, on average, the highest paid in the State, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). In 2008-09, average wage and salary incomes in Isaac topped $71,000 – more than $10,000 higher than those recorded in the Central Highlands, the next highest earners. Average salaries in the central Queensland community increased by 12% in 2008-09 compared to 6.8% growth for Queensland as a whole. The above income data are just one feature of many economic, social and environmental statistical online profiles updated today. This includes over 70 local government areas in Queensland and over 2000 regions across Australia.
Regional statistics are available over a five year period up to 2010, so local communities can track changes over time in the characteristics of their areas. The Google Maps interface makes finding regions a cinch. To get started, just click on the ‘National Regional Profile’ link on the ABS website, www.abs.gov.au.
