• Employment in Oil and Gas Extraction rose by 18.3% (3,471 people) and Coal Mining also had a small increase of 0.5% (236 people)
• Other Mining sectors saw a fall in employment, with Metal ore mining decreasing by 2.7%, Non-metallic mineral mining and quarrying decreasing by 4.0% and Exploration and other mining support services by 11.4%.
