SEPTEMBER QUARTER 2003 KEY POINTS
Trend estimates
- From August 2002 to August 2003 the number of public sector employees increased by 26,700 (1.8%) to 1,524,500.
- In the same period the number of employees in local government increased by 2.7%, in state government by 1.9% and in Commonwealth government by 0.6%.
