LABOUR COSTS

Wages and salaries paid by the waste collection, treatment and disposal services industry amounted to $1.3b in 2006-07, or 86% of its total labour costs. At $52,800, the industry’s selected labour costs per person employed at the end of June 2007 were the lowest for any industry for which data are presented in this publication.
