LIVESTOCK SLAUGHTERING AND MEAT PRODUCTION The trend estimate for the number of livestock slaughtered decreased by 3,100 (0.2%) between August 2008 and August 2009. Slaughtering of Sheep, Cattle, Calves and Pigs decreased by 16.9%, 12.2%, 12.0% and 9.4% respectively, while Lamb slaughtering increased by 11.3% over this period.
