AGE

The median age of male prisoners at 30 June 2012 was 33.9 years, slightly lower than the median age for all prisoners (34.0 years). Females had a median age of 34.6 years. Prisoners aged between 20 and 39 years accounted for 65% of the overall prison population. (Table 2.3)
