Median age at marriage Between 1990 and 2005 the median ages of females and males increased by 3.4 and 3.3 years respectively. There has, however, been very little change between 2004 and 2010. The median age at first marriage in 2010 was 29.6 years for males and 27.9 years for females. The median age of both males and females at first marriage has increased steadily from 1990. However, median age for both males and females has stabilised in recent years. The median age at first marriage for males is unchanged since 2006 (29.6 years). The female median age increased by 0.2 years in 2010. This is the first increase of median age for females since 2008.
