ACCIDENTAL POISONING (X40-X49)
Accidental poisoning (X40-X49) accounted for 622 deaths registered in 2008. This represented 0.4% of all registered death 2008, and 7.1% of all External causes of death.
More than twice as many males as females died from Accidental poisoning in 2008, with 445 male and 177 female deaths. The median age at death for Accidental poisoning was 39.7 years. Median age at death for males was 38.1 years, compared with 45.6 years for females.
