MARITAL STATUS

In 2010, just over half (53%) of adults reported being in a registered marriage. This is similar to the proportions who reported being in registered in marriages in 2002 (55%) and 2006 (54%) (table 1). The proportions of people living in defacto marriage relationships has also remained steady at 10% for 2002 and 2006 and 11% in 2010.
