WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED

In September 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export increased slightly to 4.9 million tonnes. Of the total wheat grain committed, 4.3 million tonnes was contracted for export while wheat grain committed for domestic use fell to 591 thousand tonnes.

In September 2010, most states reported increased export commitments from August 2010, with only Western Australia falling by 9% to 1.5 million tonnes.

Compared to September 2009, wheat grain committed for export almost doubled in September 2010, while wheat grain committed for domestic use fell by 16%.
