GRAIN USED
The estimate of wheat grain used in September 2009 was 1.4 million tonnes, a decrease of 15% from last month.
Wheat grain exports in September 2009 decreased 259 thousand tonnes to 983 thousand tonnes. New South Wales and Queensland were the only states to record increases in September 2009, with increases of 24 thousand and 31 thousand tonnes respectively.
Domestic usage in September 2009 was 400 thousand tonnes, an increase of 23 thousand tonnes from last month. Use of wheat grain continued to be highest in New South Wales at 183 thousand tonnes.
Nationally, the total wheat grain used since the end of September 2008 was 19.4 million tonnes.
