WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED

In November 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export increased to 6.2 million tonnes. This is an 18% increase from October 2010 and more than double the amount in November 2009.

Of the total wheat grain committed, 4.9 million tonnes was contracted for export. In November 2010, all states reported increased export commitments from October 2010.

Compared to October 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use rose by 16% to 1.3 million tonnes in November 2010. This almost matched the comparative total from November 2009.
