WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED

In March 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export increased marginally to 5.1 million tonnes. Of the total wheat grain committed, 3.7 million tonnes was contracted for export with domestic use remaining steady at 1.4 million tonnes.

All states reported increased export commitments from February 2010 except Queensland which fell by just 5 thousand tonnes.

Compared to March 2009, wheat grain committed for export fell by 9%, while wheat grain committed for domestic use increased by 32% in March 2010.
