WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED

In August 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export increased to 4.8 million tonnes. Of the total wheat grain committed, 4.1 million tonnes was contracted for export while wheat grain committed for domestic use fell to 699 thousand tonnes.

In August 2010, most states reported increased export commitments from July 2010, with only South Australia and Western Australia showing slight falls.

Compared to August 2009, wheat grain committed for export increased by 86%, while wheat grain committed for domestic use fell by 6% in August 2010.
